Core enablers such as cloud computing, Software Defined Networking (SDN) and Network Function Virtualization (NFV) are advancing to meet 5G’s demands. However, this technological leap also introduces complex security challenges and vulnerabilities that must be addressed to ensure robust and secure 5G networks.

This paper provides a comprehensive overview of the security risks inherent in these enabling technologies and explores how generative AI can assess, predict and mitigate these threats, paving the way for secure 5G adoption.
